I think it is completely unnecessary. Apple does a lot of things right, but this seems like one of those things they did just for effect. There is absolute no use for it, and like a lot of other useless things on a touch screen phone you end up continually accidentally clicking it and having to toggle back to the regular album view to find what you're looking for quickly.

Intelligent group... Vs just a mass of everything?
You really cant see the benefit?

What makes it intelligent, just that it breaks it down monthly? I don't see how this is useful.

It's awful. Camera roll is much better. Judging by the length of threads in the iOS 8 forums and the apple forums most people agree.

I haven't even downloaded iOS 8 yet, what have they done to it now?

I'm genuinely surprised at how many people are upset about the removal of the camera roll, it was an unorganised mess of all your photos. You can view all your photos in the other view so there's totally no need for it at all

Camera roll is way better ... I hate scrolling where only a picture or two are present at each row while scrolling, really looks ugly.

Camera roll was actually one of the things I missed from iOS when I got the Note 3. I hate having 10 different folders for my pictures. I just want all of them in the same folder. So much easier going straight to the most recent picture in camera roll instead of searching for the right folder and then searching for the picture.

Just my $0.02. Haven't had much experience with the new Moments view tho

The moments view is all your photos in one place though, it's just sectioned out to give the different dates and places a bit more clarity. The moments view is basically I better laid out camera roll with a bit of extra information.

If you really don't like it then you could always download the MyRoll app from the AppStore, it's free and has a camera roll view in it just like the old one.

What has iOS 8 added/changed about moments view?

But they got rid of camera roll? Do they still have the photo albums??

Albums is still there, just no camera roll 'album'. If you want to be able to scan/scroll through your photos in chronological order you use ''moments'

That's the problem. I don't want to only see all my photos from every device. I want to see what's on this device and delete it or back it up or whatever.

Fair point I didn't think of that, I like to see everything in one place myself but I have to agree there should be a way to view just photos on your specific device aka the camera roll.

I'm a Camera Roll album fan myself. Hopefully, they bring it back in a future update. I'm also not a fan of the Recently Deleted folder. I get the reasoning and the potential benefit, but if you just want to quickly delete a pic, you have to go to that folder and delete it again, to fully get rid of it.
