what do you think of the new WD My Book Studio ?

i'm thinking of buying the new My Book Studio

it is fast and has fw800


but the older models were known to be quite noisy

can some owners give their testimonials?

Beware the WD MyBook Studio 2TB External HDD

I've got 3 of the previous generation MyBook studio (Two 500GB, one 1TB) as well as a 2TB MyBook Studio Edition II, and they have proven quite reliable and not at all noisy.

I did visit an Apple retail store this weekend and noticed they had one of the current generation MyBook Studio drives on display, hooked up to an iMac or MBP. If you have one nearby, you might consider stopping by and checking out a functioning drive and listen for noise...

I've had no bad experiences with WD Drives in general, and have owned several.

the HD is not in retail store in my country

it can be ordered online on most sites

that's why i was hoping for user feedbacks
