My 12 Pro Max speakers sound great (considering what they are) and my old X speakers aren't half bad either.

Family member wants a 12 mini. How do the speakers sound in that one? Would it not be too much worse than my old X?

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I had a X which I traded in for a 12 mini. The incoming call ringtone is loud enough even in a noisy environment. The speakerphone volume is ample. Music/video volume is good, so is clarity, though bass is naturally not as deep considering the size of the phone/speakers. The only issue I have is in the alert tones for Messages or Social Media apps, which are noticeably less loud than the X. Since the incoming call ringtone is loud, I do not understand why the alert tones are not loud enough.

The speakers are ok and get the job done, but nothing special. Obviously if you want a much better audio experience use earpods/airpods, stream audio via airplay/bluetooth speakers or use an external dac and proper headphones.

They're more than adequate for watching YouTube etc.

No one that truly cares about sound quality for music etc will be listening through phone speakers any way.
