C I think is very obvious...color.
But what about s???
I remember when the 4s came out, Steve jobs had just died and people were claiming 4s meant "4 Steve"...seriously doubt that though.

It doesn't mean anything as far as I know. People had said it stood for "Speed" with the 3Gs, and I'd heard "Siri" for the 4s. Honestly, I think it's just a way to differentiate between last years model and this years.

S = same since the differences between each generation of x and xS models are decreasing.

I'd shudder at the thought of upgrading from the 6 to the 6S model.

Notice how often fans ask of singers, what did you mean by that? and they expect an ethereal meaning to the lyric.

Once somebody asked Paul Simon about the song with Joe Dimaggio in it. Did you know him? How did he came into the song? Is there a baseball metaphor?

Paul Simon just deadpanned: Because it rhymes.

I say lots of products use "S," not just the iPhone, because marketing research found "S" to bring positive connotation to people, like Rappers often call themselves "Z" something to sound cool. Doesn't mean anything. People seems to search for comfort in meanings. Sometimes... a cigar is just a cigar.
