:O
thats worrying, i was hoping my '05 dual g5 was still worth at least 400 quid fingers crossed, it wont work

lol
LOL

£400 for a
non working G5?

Expecting some mug to come along? Good Luck!!
A few weeks back I won a small stash of dough from the casino (
see thread), so in effect this is
free money!!!

From my winnings I've purchased myself a new bike! A 2009 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R then there's those:
Since we're doing business, the seller mentions there's a G5 he'd like to offload but didn't know it's conditions (no display) and I'm like "Umm.. err.. well... if you like we'll take it of your hands" and he's like "Yeah.. OK, done!".

Being a little distracted, I wasn't really sure what he meant...

I was more interested in getting my paws on that beautiful CC

And since I'm buying direct from the original owner and not some reseller I wont be paying extortion fees

This one is near enough perfect!! It comes with most if not all the original bits, keyboard and mouse, documentation and software (floppies), I think the only thing missing is the original packaging, which is a shame... but not the end of the world
In addition...
There's a
Titanium PowerBook G4 800 (DVI) in the deal too. It's a older machine, think it's 2001/02? Working, in pretty good condition with a few minor markings on the TFT cause by rattling keys but nothing too serious. Housing wise, 95% perfect with the some light scuff-marks with exception of the white trim, now being more more grey/rustic shiny black due to dirt and general rubbing. Still the asking price was a fairly reasonable £130.
Assuming you get them up and running at minimal expense and effort, what do yo plan to do with them?
Umm.... The CC's gonna be added to my expanding Apple Collection so it'll be put into retirement (if not already), perhaps fired up every once in a while just to keep it happy?? Though I'll most probably clean it up, remove all the dust from the cabinet and the inner electronics, again test it still works. Still looking for a cheap Lisa XL
I'm planning to use the TI for MacOS9 only, oddly I have to use Quark 3.34 with iMate (ADB dongle) every once in a while, at present I don't have a system capable, my cube needs a replacement PSU

So this will be the fastest machine in my possession that will actually runs MacOS9 natively (not as a emulation via MacOSX) and at a decent speed. And the G5... Well I don't have any plans for it right now. If does work, then I think need to check the heat-sinks for leakages and think about getting them replaced - though if that's not viable - i'll probably end up strip it and sell off all the parts as spares. Hopefully, I'll keep the case and mod it for my core i7 system, it needs a case with decent vents.
To be honest with you, I didn't expect to get the G5!! Getting it was a bonus and a half!! All in all, I spent £230 for three completely different systems spanning the different periods in Apple's History
