I was wondering whether a full blown HD movie on the new retina MBP will look ok due to its upscaling?

Has anyone done this and can confirm it looks ok?

I assume it may look potentially bad if your running at the native 2880 resolution?

i am also interested in this, im downloading a 1080p movie right now, however it will take some time maybe 5 hours xD (sorry i have slow internet). However maybe a forum member who owns a retina macbook pro will know about this...

With pixels of that size upscaling artifacts are not likely to become noticeable. It should't look any worse than a 1080p video on a native 1080p screen.
