What does ALBUM mean?

24” M4 iMac 10 core 16gbRAM / Tahoe 26.2/Music/Songs/Album.

In Column view why won't MUSIC app organize songs from the same album? I must click either Album by Artist/Year or Album by Artist/Year. Why?

That's a bug, it's been around for 15 years or more. Rename the songs album to something else, and then rename it back.

Actually it could be a different bug. Anyway Music app "Album" sort has always been broken.

But it does you click it once it sorts by Album, click it the second time it sorts by Album by Artist and then the third time Album by Artist/Year. Then click it again and it will return to just album.

Double check that you haven’t got any other secondary sorting enabled.
