I was wondering what apple charges for repairs to ipods, if it needs say a new HD, Battery and headphone jack, or individual ones of those parts. I don't want to give up my 3g and don't mind apple fixing it

Service FAQ (http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/). It says that they exchange your iPod for $250, don't know if that applies to 3G iPods.
