What does apple do when they release a new model mac book pro? Will the current models go on sale or do they not sell them anymore? I like the current model and am about to purchase one however, if they go on sale when the new version comes out I can wait.

sorry i know you all hate these questions but anything helps

They dont usually go on sale. Apple does pretty well with clearing inventory before they introduce a new model. I assume some of the leftovers go the the referb store where they are discounted.

cool, thank you..
I get the student discount anyways but wanted to double check before dropping a grand.. thanks

Conservative. Wait. And keep waiting because the next model will always be better. That is the Apple way :apple:

I would wait because it will have sandybridge and might also have lightpeak.

So the new models most likely cost the same as the current models? Unless they make some major changes to their pricing structure of course
I really want a 13" MBP but just waiting for the new models to come..

Refurb Price > Student Discount price. The 13" base MBP with student discount is $1099, refurb is $1019
