What does daisy-chaining two hard drives do for you? I know you can connect two external drives via firewire, and connect one of them to the computer, so what's the advantage of daisy-chaining rather than hooking up both drives to the computer directly?
 
You can still have ports open to plug in other devices directly to your computer.
