what does iPhone backup contain ?

My iTunes recently deleted all of my music and playlists when trying to sync.. But I did backup my iPhone before. Does my iPhone backup contain music playlist information ?

Everything that doesn't contain data is stored. So all your settings, location of apps and data within those apps are saved and assuming they are still in iTunes the backup will retrieve them.

So don't expect apps not in iTunes to come back to your phone because the backup doesn't store the app, iTunes does.

At least, this is what I believe is happening.

so how about playlists ? even if I don't have the actual music.. does it at least store the names of the songs in the playlists ?
