iPod touch What does restore do?

I accidently deleted a video i recorded on my touch. If the video was there the last time i synced it and i haven't synced it yet, can i recover it? Do I restore?

not sure but i think if you restore you will not get it back and i don't think there is anyway to but i might be wrong.

I don't remember that there is any tools can run for iPod Touch or other removable devices.
