They are the encryption keys for the iPad firmware and bootrom. It's a big deal because, among other things, it is now possible for people with the know-how to look inside the bootrom for exploits which could potentially be used to permanently pwn the iPad.

It also means that the method Geohot used to gain root access to his iPT3 still works on 3.2/iPad, is more powerful than previously suspected (it's a pretty low-level hack to allow access to these keys), and could potentially still work on iPhone 4.0.
