As a follow up to my previous post https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/578962/

I have encountered some cosmetic problems with the warping of my Macbook Pro. Called them up, nice people, and I'm bringing the Macbook Pro down this weekend to get it checked out.

Now I have a question. When I backup my Macbook Pro, what does it back up?

Does it back up apps?
Will I have any trouble with apps which need serials (e.g. MS Office), must I reactivate them or will it be as if it did not change at all? (I know I can easily add the serial but just asking)
Does it back up all my settings in Preferences?

thanks.

I'd like to add a question to yours.

If you get the Time Capsule, can it back up multiple comuters? Just wondering if I could use it for my iMac & MBP...or if they should have distinct hard drives for Time Machine to use.

From what I've heard, you can back up multiple Macs and PCs to a single Time Capsule.
