This is what it says on my online account under the upgrade section:

As a valued AT&T customer, this line qualifies for discounted equipment pricing when you sign a new 2-year commitment.

We can offer you an additional discount up to $100.00 off regular 2-year commitment pricing and a waived upgrade fee on most devices. Additional discounts do not apply to iPhone.

iPhone Upgrade
As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade with a new 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee.

Does this mean I am good to upgrade for the $199 / $299 Price for the iPhone4?

So this is a full upgrade eligibility and not a discounted upgrade price right?

Full upgrade= the 199 299 price

discounted= this lower price I am hearing around like 399 and 499 or something like that.

What I am reading is the 199 299 correct?

Yours sounds like the discounted (Partial) upgrade.

Meaning, $399 for 16GB, $499 for 32GB.

I thought a full upgrade is worded exactly that way - We can offer you a full upgrade...

But who knows. How much per month is your bill? That's a factor in how fast you can upgrade.

My account says the same, but if you do the *639# thing you should get a text saying, "As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment and an $18 upgrade fee."

Try it out. Although I'm still confused as to exactly what that means.

Just talked to a rep at AT&T and he said that yes I am eligibility for a full discount on the new iPhone 4.

So if you see this in upgrade eligibility on your account account online this wording does mean you will get the full discount to get it at the 199 299 price tag.

The answer is also in our upgrade guide. Could've saved a phone call.

No your guide didn't match what mine said.....

Your upgrade guide says:
As a valued customer, we can offer you an (it doesn't say discounted here in your upgrade guide) upgrade with a new 2 year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee

My online account upgrade says:
As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade with a new 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee

So in seeing this one word that says discounted not matching your upgrade guide I would assume that I don't get the full discount and just a "Discounted" discount.... if that made sense. :p

Thanks for all the help but you upgrade guide didn't fix this question this time. :)

so for all those who this and it still says Discounted you are still good to go for the 199 / 299 price tag of the iPhone4 ;)

$100 off $599 and $699 pricing is $199 and $299 in this guy's head.

Wishing thinking at its finest.

Thats section doesn't apply to the iPhone Bud, read the whole thing that discount doesnt apply to the iPhone. That mean if I upgrade to a different phone I can get that phone at the discounted price PLUS 100 bucks off on top that.... But it doesn't apply to iPhone (if you read it all you would now this)

But under the iPhone upgrade section it says I am eligible for an upgrade which applies to the 199 299 price bud!

Its not saying anything about taking 100 off the 599/ 699 full price.

Stop confusing the thread here.

If you read the guide, the messages I list are for the *639# messages. Easier than logging into the website.

Also, that $100 discount message....sounds like you're not an iPhone customer....am I correct?
