What dreams did you have last night?

I'd thought I bring up this subject since I don't remember my dreams for the longest time. When I was between 12 and 14 years old, I always remember flying, and those dreams were some of the best I ever had because they were lucid dreams. But last night, well actually two nights ago, I had a dream that I could actually remember for the first time in many years.

It was about Star Wars III. God I sound like such a nerd. I dreamt Senator Amidala was in a long cage and Anakin ordered her execution. So an alien ran her over and left with her head inside a transparent egg shell. It was iridescent blue (like the Cylons in the original Battlestar Galactica), about the size of a watermelon. That was about all I remember of it. Weird eh? What do you suppose it meant?

LOL I love the picture.

I dream quite frequently. A lot of dreams about being a cop (weird), a lot of dreams with me yelling at my dad (getting out years of frustration I guess - we get along great now), and dreams of being in a road race, but not being able to move (probably has to do with my marathoning).
 
I often have dreams that involve trying to escape from buildings. Sometimes they involve some bit of gruesomeness, like when I suggested to my partners in the building escape that we hang the bleeding policeman we'd captured upside down so that the blood drains to his head and "the brain dies last."

Apparently, I'm really disturbing in my dreams.
 
I only remember my nightmares... and I didn't remember having any last night.

I had this nightmare a while back where I was trapped in my dead grandfather's house and this dark father time figure is chasing me around trying to stab me with a long, pointy knife... the only way for me to escape was to jump thru the glass window in my grandfather's living room.. and when I did, my parent's were upset with me.


Also, very rarely do I dream in color, most of the time it's black and white.
 
I tend to dream in very vivid colors. I recall one dream where i saw a shade of blue ive yet to see in real life. Strange. I also have nightmares. Some are pretty disturbing. I usually wake up kind of bothered by them but it gos away toward the middle of the day haha. Sometimes i have really awesome happy dreams though. One was about an ex girlfriend i had a bad break up with, and in one dream we got back together and were so happy and everything was fine. It was very peaceful. Then i woke up and relaized the reality was quite different. Ive noticed when it comes to relationships i manifest the negative feelings i had during the relationship in my dreams. Or ill manifest some random beautiful girl treating me exactly the way i want to be treated in my dream. For instance if i always felt rejected by a girl or something, i may have a very sad heart breaking dream where shes constantly rejecting me and ill be begging her to accept me. Dreams are weird. Ive also had a dream that my brother was being chased my this maniac trying to run him over in front of my house. My brother is 20 now but in the dream he was 8 or so.
 
I have dreams quite frequently, but i usual end up remembering them a few hours after waking up. They always seem to be quite strange.

Last night i dreamt that i was seeing a stage show in London. The seats were arranged really strangely and everything was really close to the stage. The show was dancing and stuff like that and it started off with children and as time went on, the actors/dancers progressively got older. There was moving stage props, and some big pedestal thing that moved upwards, and as it went up, the people dancing dragged me onto it but i didnt want to and everyone in the audience was laughing. For some reason, the orchestra was at the back of the hall at the top ... very weird. Then I woke up.

I rarely have nightmares but one time i had a really bad one. There was a HUGE spider in my bedroom before i got into bed and it really freaked me out. I checked under the bed and in the sheets to make sure there wasn't anymore. Then when i was asleep, i dreamt i was lying there on my bed awake looking upwards and suddenly a MASSIVE thick armoured, ugly spider of a beast crawled in my window!!! I jumped out of bed (in real life) thinking it was still there and ran towards the light switch, knocking everything on the desk over in the process. When the light was on I realised I was dreaming. Scared the living hell out of me, i didn't get back to sleep at all.

I fecking hate spiders!!

I very rarely remember my dreams in any sort of detail, so I can't tell you what I dreamt about last night I'm afraid. But to follow up on your Star Wars dream Lacero, I recently had a very bizarre dream which was basically the movie played as normal, except that Darth Vader didn't have James Earl Jones' voice – instead he was voiced by Johnny Vegas. Other than referring to him as 'Lord Vegas', none of the other characters seemed to notice the Dark Lord of the Sith was speaking with a very heavy Lancashire accent...

Apologies to anyone outside of the UK who doesn't have a clue who I'm talking about! ;)

One strange thing about my dreams is I very rarely feature in them. Normally it's almost like watching a film or the TV – the dream even cuts between people when they're speaking.

Hardly ever remember my dreams don't have the time to think about them so they usually fade quickly, vaguely remember having a dream about Clint Eastwood, Scarlett Johanson,Denise Richards and a few others walking down the street and turning to stare at me last week, it wasn't an uncomfortable dream, just confusing.
 
Wow, is this ever a good topic for me.

I've had all sorts of dreams. One of them goes like this:

I'm waiting in my neighbor's driveway for the school bus to come. A whole fleet of school buses arrives, but none of them stop to let me on. Instead, they drive past me, take a turn to the right into the yard (going over the curb), then drive off into the woods. (This one's from a while back - I was about 8 years old at the time.)

Here's another one:

I'm in a Mario Kart-like race, only the CC ratings are upped to 250cc, 500cc, and 750cc. I enter a 500cc race, struggle with controlling the go-cart at first (these things are so fast that the race track is banked like Nascar) and somehow manage to place first, despite having to dodge a mass of bouncing green turtle shells the racers behind me threw my way.
 
Everyone dreams--a LOT--every night in fact. But we forget them.

Try this: keep a pencil and paper by your bed. If you wake up after a dream (it often happens, you just don't remember!), write down the subject of the dream. Just a few key words is fine. It doesn't stop you from going back to sleep--you were awake already after all.

But the act of writing reinforces the memory. In the morning, read the notes and it will come back you. Suddenly you'll realize you DO dream a lot more than you thought!

Dream recollection is also the first step to lucid dreaming: dreaming and KNOWING you are dreaming.

That works too! Keeping a "dream journal" for just a couple weeks made me start to KNOW I was dreaming sometimes.

And that's the first step to directed dreaming--controlling what happens in your dream. That takes more time to learn, but it will come. Just keep the journal going.

There are other techniques people use to know if they are dreaming--like looking at your watch or other small text, then look away, then look again. Does it say the same thing it said the first time? Usually in a dream it won't! But how do you remember to even DO that test in a dream? The best way is to get in the habit of doing the test ALL the time, even when awake. The habit carries over, and you will do it in your dreams. I forget to do the test so I'm not in the habit. They actually make devices that beep (once, quietly) every half hour or so throughout the day, to remind you to do the test. You hear the beep even when asleep, and it makes you look at your watch :) I'm too cheap to buy something like that, though.

I often dream I'm in my bed too... but the bed is in other places, like in line at the grocery store, or in my car. Yes, dreams are strange.

PS, words cannot express how scary that Cylon ISN'T compared to the ones in the new show :D As for what the dream means... I don't know, but it's not something good! :D
 
I'm really fascinated with this lucid dreaming thing, but never got around to actually doing it. I've lucid-dreamt many times, but a majority of them are unpleasant dreams where I realized "this CAN'T be freaking happening, let's get the **** out of this thing", and put my hands over my eyes, and basically forced the real eyelids open, thus forcing me to wake up.

The only time (that I remember) where I realized I'm dreaming, and decided to have a blast. I didn't take advantage of it, I just leaped around laughing, then relapsed back into believing it was real. Rats. I mean, the potential for porn is too great... It actually feels real. :eek: Who'd ever have to download porn anymore if you can choose to go lucid and have a great one? :D
 
i keep dreaming i have magical powers. it kind of makes me sad when I wake up and I don't.

I tend to have dreams that are like real life but completely twisted. But it all seems so real I have trouble shaking the feeling it was.

The writing thing is true, I've had weird dreams where the writing changes. Sometimes my ibook features in them, and that's always funny.

the worst was the other night, where I was being chased by a ghost with a friend from my freshman year of college, and my friend got tricked and captured by the ghost, but we were supposed to be taking this test, and then I went into what was my bedroom when I was like 10, (it was adjacent to a room that looked like my grandmother's old living room and what appeared to be my high school) and I was able to call for help in the form of leo from the show charmed...then the view switched and I was suddenly watching tv. very odd.
 
I had a dream last night that I was eating a huge white chocolate bar on a stick. And I don't even like it that much.
 
Last Night

I've been attracted to a co-worker for quite some time... there is flirtation between us, but nothing has developed yet. Last night I had this extremely hot dream about the two of us. It was so damn real I almost got up and drove to my gf's place... but then I realized how late it was.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar... and sometimes it isn't. :D
 
Am I the only guy who doesn't dream about girls/sex all that much? If I do, it's all a bit sordid. It's only when I'm in bed with a girl and I'll dream about an ex-girlfriend or something.

Hmm... Should I see someone about this? ;)

I'm rather upset that none of my dreams feature Scarlett Johansson. :(

The vast majority of my dreams aren't about girls/sex either. I'm not in a relationship right now, either.
