I'm in the market for a portable external hard drive as well as a new HDD for my MacbookPro. So I was looking at the 250GB Western Digital Passport for the external and then a thought struck me. Would it be possible to buy the 250GB Western Digital, crack it open, take out the hard drive and put that in my MBP. Then take the drive currently in my MBP and put it back in the WD Passport casing.

Does anyone know what type of drive comes with the WD Passport 250GB's?? Will my plan work or am I just dreaming??

The WD 250GB Passport comes with a SATA drive. I took mine out of the case and put it in my Macbook, and put the Macbook 120GB drive into the external USB case. Everything works great.
