What exactly uses Apple Pay?

P2P, POS (e.g., WholeFoods, Starbucks, and other BAM), as well as many online retailers [see: https://www.apple.com/apple-pay/where-to-use/])

I use it for shopping (supermarket ) some gas stations (in-side; not at pump yet) and many other places. For online there's a setting (forgot where) that you can engage to show you which sites will accept Apple Pay. Note: have 2017 Mac Book Pro with Touch Bar.
Thing is, I don't have an iPhone, so any use at a physical store or restaurant, etc is meaningless to me.
