Okay so i need to get a external hard drive with 250 gb or more. But i cant spend more than 100 bucks and it needs to be mac compatible. Any ideas?

Almost anything is Mac compatible, but for that price, I'd go for one of the Western Digital myBook series.

In a recent article in either macworld or mac life(can't remember which one but it's the most recent issue.) they gave the seagate drives the highest rating.

The price might be a little over a $100 but they did review a 320 gb version and it also was the fastest

I would agree. I have 2.

I did have an issue with one freezing, but got a quick warranty replacement. WD is great IMO.

Frys has Seagate 1TB External for $109.00 for the next week. You can spend $20.00 more and get the Firewire, USB, eSATA 32meg cache version.
