I'm getting a USB sound card for my TB display since oddly Apple doesn't provide stereo out which is my only complaint about this display. It will provide sound to two M-Audio speakers. I'm looking at this one;

Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Go! Pro USB Audio System with THX SB1290

Any comments or recommendations? I'm assuming it would work fine but would be interested in hearing what others are using.

The creative pro might be a bit nicer with its volume control. I looked at these but decided to go for a £2 USB audio. It's hard to tell but I'm pretty sure the only difference was the USB was louder and slightly higher pitch than the standard headphone jack. It was specified as mac compatible and worked fine as just plug and play so quite a cheap solution

Have you bought the sound card? I'm looking into the same setup but I see this on the Amazon page:

Note: this sound card is not compatible with Mac systems.
