Hello,
I'm wondering if any of you a savvy enough to figure out what font is used for the headlines on this page:
http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/

They say:
MORE THIS WEEK
NEW POSTS TO THE HOST!
and
TWO THOUSAND SIX?!

Thanks in advance!
Lee Tom

I think...

(edited)sorry I took a stab at it - its been so long since I was able to get one correct with out seeing the whole set

If you want to know the exact weight, type & foundry check out http://www.typophile.com/

They have an forum that people just ID type all day long it seems like and they are really quick to respond. Hopefully this helps

Definitely and absolutely not Gill Sans.
;)
Looks monospaced but isn't. It's one of a number of fonts that must be intentionally designed to be clunky and brutal. Some others are on the tip of my tongue, but I have recently completed a intensive programme of forgetting font names to make room in my brain for really essential things like Canadian Politics (not).

Interstate Bold looks a good match.

They were trying for legible :) It's a clone of the type used on US highway signs (samples).

I went through my entire catalog and found these that were close but no cigar.
AG-Old Face
Deices Engraved Caps (SSi)
Franklin Gothic
Hiero
Neuzeit Grotesque (URW)
News Gothic

They all looked good except for the way the center decender in the "M" comes to a point in the original.
