I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in my early 2009 MacBook. Apple's store has memory sorted by generation. The System Information for the MacBook says MacBook 5,2. I'm assuming that means generation 5, revision 2. Is that correct?

That is correct. Do take note that the ram on Apple's site is slightly overpriced as opposed to other online retailers.

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum RAM:
As Intell said, don't buy your RAM from Apple. It's ridiculously overpriced.

Apple does not manufacture RAM and charges more than you would pay with other reputable RAM providers.
Some great sources for RAM for your Mac are OWC, Crucial and newegg.com.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and see what I can find elsewhere, which is probably Amazon as that's pretty much the only place I've bought computer parts and things in the past.
