Hello,
thanks in advance. I have a little bit curiosity about that.
Let's say I have 2 Macbook Pro model of the same type (and of course each one have a serial number),
what happens to the serial number when I replace the Logic Board with one of the other?

- Are they going to be "unknown" as not detected (so you need to use the application to give them a serial number),
or are they taking the serial number of the other one?

Thanks!

I’ve never done it, but my guess would be whatever serial number was programmed into the logic board that you were installing would be the one displayed on the screen. Of course, this won’t change the physical serial numbers engraved in the item. I’m pretty sure of Apple does it, they change the serial number.

You get same serial number, technicians have a tool they can use to burn a serial number into a board. Called "blank board serializer" if I recall. No idea if this has changed with new T2 stuff though
