What happened to Debbie Downer who said no one was getting watches Friday?

Remember just a few days ago there were tons of negative posts saying Apple lied to us about watches being delivered on the 24th? Now that hundreds of us here have gotten charges and preparing to ship they seem to have crawled back under their rocks.

SHIPGATE (or was that DATEGATE?) has officially been avoided!

Explain to me how "preparing to ship" = "guarantee to receive on Friday"?

I missed that part

I'm sure OP is talking about the ones last week and this weekend that were saying the option of the watches arriving Friday are low.

Yep. That was it. There were people CERTAIN it was all a plot from Apple and they had no intention of shipping anything to arrive Friday.
 
Just speculation but, what if Apple had flexible dates for all models in the hope of launching in-store as well. It would have given them that flexibility to make stock available for store purchases on 4/24. Maybe they then called an audible as the preorders exceeded their expectations and decided to make it online exclusive. This would explain the oddness of all devices have a range from the start of sales and the uncertainty of in-store availability until after the preorders started.

Time to put a fresh sheet of reynolds wrap on my hat... :rolleyes:

Many of us have found our tracking numbers by tracking by reference at ups.com and have found that they are shipping via UPS Next Day from within the USA for Friday delivery... Seems fairly likely at this point that anyone who prepared to ship yesterday will be receiving their watch Friday.
