What happened to Jet Black?

I'm aware we have glass backs now on the new 8 and 8 Plus, but I was expecting to at least have a Black and not Space Gray option offered? Is anyone else surprised by this?

Not too surprised they more or less merged Rose Gold and Gold to come up with the 8 Gold variant, or that Silver stuck around as is without changes.

I thought we would see Jet black in the iPhone X. But the space gray I guess remotely resembles black in someway. But maybe it's to create a differential in the iPhone line up amongst the other colors.

I wished that the sides were jet black. Sadly it's just matte aluminum space gray
