Does anyone know what happened to Macdesktops.com? It has been my favorite site for desktops but I can not access it anymore. I know there are other sites but no one offered such a selection of pictures all of which were available in multiple resolutions. It would be a shame if it was gone forever:(.

Other sites just don't have the selection of pictures greater than 1600x1200.

Well, MacDesktops.com was always asking for donations to keep it's servers up and running. I guess they couldn't keep up anymore :(

Yes, this REALLY sucks. That was the first place I started getting desktops from when I got my Mac. I was starting to think something was up, because the site was really slow loading the past couple times I went to it.

For the past several days, I have received the following reply after attempting to access the site:

Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

I get the same thing, which is too bad. They had a great selection of desktops :(

That is a good collection of pics, thanks for the link.

You are very welcome, Summer. I was sure you'd find some to your liking ... most people do. I love that one of the waterfall over the rocks in Carson Falls, IN.

Hmm, seems they've taken another trip into the twilight zone. Anyone know if it's temporary or perhaps this is the last nail so to speak.

Good news ... the site is once again available.

There are two new pictures that some members might find interesting:

1. Off Highway One
2. Retro Apple on Embossed Coal

I looked at their website and there are a number of pics that may interest some, but two that I'll mention below are about as different as possible. One is a nature shot of majestic mountains and the other is much cheekier with a different set of hills showcased.

1. The Tetons
2. I Love Apple (with the logo in lieu of the word love)

FWIW, the second comes with the standard disclaimer ... "Warning: risque."
