Two of my icons in my system preferences seem to be gone snd now I am left with a weird looking light switch icon for both...the startup disk and universal icons were the ones affected (see pic)...How can I fix this and what could have causes it? It is rather annoying! Thanks

I have a black Macbook by the way.

In the wise words of WildCowboy:
Close System Preferences, then look for a file called "com.apple.preferencepanes.cache"...I think it's in in <your user directory>/Library/Caches. Drag it to your Desktop and then try opening System Preferences again. If all looks well, you can go ahead and trash the file you dragged to your Desktop.

Thanks, EricNau...glad to have someone around who can cover for me while I'm commuting. :D
