Wasn´t it last year we heard MSN was going to support webcam and audiochat for Macs? This was to happen this year, but so far, nothing has come out yet.

Does anyone have an update on this?

Yeah don't hold your breathe. Just get Skype or use iChat or something.

I would love to. Infact, I want to use iChat. But I can´t, because it doesnt support hotmail accounts. I now have my own domain with my own email, and it doesnt support that either. That´s Apple for you.

Use your new email to get a gTalk acct. and use that with iChat.

If your reason for wanting the msn 8 update is for webcam support, you can try amsn or mercury messenger until microsoft sort out a working version of 8. I've used the beta and went straight back to 7

There is a link floating around to the new MSN for mac which has Webcam support. I'm sure with very little searching you can find it easily.

It doesn't work, or at least I've never been able to get it to work

I still have it installed on my computer, but i cannot remember where I found the link, otherwise I'd post it

I have searched high and low and have not found it.

That link takes me to Google talk? I neither want to download their client or set up a gmail account.

Took about three minutes to find it

:D

That works terrible. I did not dare to install it. I just got an install-wizard with a bunch of buttons with numbers on them.

I just downloaded the file two minutes ago and reinstalled it on my system, works fine

The file unzips fine and you just drag and drop the msn icon to your applications window, worked as it should for me

Yea, works fine. I have it for like a month now.

So you cam with Windows users now?

Also, we're in September now, only four months remains, and STILL, Microsoft has not launched the new version.

Have you seen any sort of updating on that betaversion?

Jeeze?

Ok well, I will send you the emails to everyone on my contact list and you can individually explain how to install skype, or aim, how to use it, what it's for and HOW TO SIGN UP... because I don't feel like doing it.

Stop suggesting this because it's not as easy as you think.

I second that!
I actually downloaded Skype yesterday and tried logging in after creating my name. This was no easy task. It was so difficult, that I actually did not manage to do it.

All my usernames were taken. And when I would register a new one, the password would be "incorrect" at login.

Based on that experience, registering yourself on Skype is a shot in the dark, with no predictable outcome if you'll succeed or not. It's gambling.
