Tonight, for the first time, I started doubting ending Verizon early for an iPhone. Besides the permanent feeling of it (If I paid to leave, doesn't make sense to switch back if AT&T stinks), I also realized something:

I got 5 MMS messages (Picture text messages) tonight and sent a few in response. I know an iPhone doesn't have it, but I'm wondering what happens if someone sends you a picture message. Will I never see it? Will it arrive but I can't send back?

If I never get to see it, that's kind of annoying. What about if they attached text along with the pic?

Really?

Can I send pictures in an email to a cell phone as well?

That doesn't sound right. I thought what you got was a link to a website where you have to enter login data to get a small version of the picture that was sent. Login data that you have to write down on a piece of paper, since the iPhone doesn't do copy/paste.

You'll have to login to a site and you'll only see a small version of the picture.

However, if you have them send you MMS to your email account, you'll receive it in your email, full scale. Then all you do to send them a picture back is theirnumber@vzwpix.com and they'll get your picture.

Thats for verizon obviously, here is a list though: Boost Mobile:

sms with a link

what you get is an sms that says "I sent you a multimedia message. You can view my message w/in the next 7 days via the web at www.viewmymessage.com using MSG id xxxxxxx Password xxxxxx"

It is a bit annoying because you can't remember the ID or password. But, if that is the only downfall of the iPhone...so be it for all the other cool stuff.

Yeah, it's kinda annoying with ID/Password. That's one of the few times I actually want copy & paste.
