I'm sure the phones will be sold out but what if you get one with a dead pixel or some other weird issue? Can you exchange it at the Apple store immediately?

Folks think they can try the Plus and return it in 14 days for the smaller one. I have news for them with this unprecedented preorder demand on the new Iphones. No doubt in my mind there will be a wait, there was with the 5s after the first week trying to get one.

What happens if you get a defective 6 on launch day?

"At my signal...unleash hell"

They can certainly return it, but they get no more priority than anyone else when it comes to buying a 4.7 inch. They're at the back of the line, same as anyone walking into the store for the first time.

Roundhouse kick the nearest dude with a non-defective iP6.

You can spend your time in the queue practicing.

Did not know there would be no priority but I guess that figures.

I had this happened to me two years ago with the iPhone 5. I received the Unit on launch day, the Wi-Fi did not work. I called Apple and they said go to your Apple Store and they should be able to help you out. At the Apple store I couldn't return the phone because it was a online order, but they treated it as a Genius Bar exchange. So they took my phone and gave me a new phone in a white box. And that's was it. Obviously it wasn't refurbished or anything because it was day one. But they said they have stock of the iPhones for reasons like this.

Apple Stores have inventory set aside for it. Carrier stores likely vary, but I'm sure there are some set aside in distribution that could be dispatched quickly if needed.

So if you don't like the size you bought, pray for a defect!

Even then, they're not under any obligation to replace it with a different model, but I think they'd be a lot more likely to bend the rules.

My launch day iphone 5 had dings all over it. I called apple and they overnighted me a replacement that had a bad sleep / wake button... They then overnighted me another perfect replacement and told me to pick $100 in accessories for my trouble which they fedexed me as well.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience.

I remember when some people had launch iPhone 5s that were bent!
