I was always wondering what they would do to me if I got on the LIRR without a ticket or money. Like if I do have to take the LIRR I get off one stop from the stop I get on so it only costs me 5 bucks for a ticket. But I was wondering what would happen if I had no ticket nor any money to pay on board.

I could be wildly wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure on NJ Transit, they call the police, who escort you off at the next stop. I seem to remember reading that once on a marquis in a station...

Either way, I don't suggest trying it on the LIRR.

If I'm going to get off on the next stop, I never get a ticket. The ticket guy never gets to me before the next stop anyway, so I always get free rides.

With exceptions: if you're going to stay on the train until Jamaica or Penn Station, though, get the damn ticket. The ticket guy comes out before Jamaica, then before Penn Station. Always.

(I used to live in Nassau, so I don't know the "ticketing" stops beyond Jamaica, since I never ride the LIRR eastbound)

I always get off Penn Station. I'm one stop from Penn so yea.

i havent taken the LIRR to many time in my life, but once i bought and off-peak ticket when, apparently, i was supposed to buy an on-peak ticket. The ticket lady came buy and told me i had to pay her $2.50...well at that time i didnt have any open cash on me, since i carded everything. She was really nice about it and told me to just mail them the $2.50 in an envelope she provided....

If you are without ticket and without money you will be forced to get off at the next stop.

My friend learned that the hard way.

EDIT: It also depends on the conductor (ticket collector). Some of them might get the transit police involved. You never know.

Once when I skidded to a halt in the parking lot, sprinted across the humming tracks, ran onto the platform and onto the train seconds before they closed, not having bought a ticket, the Metro North ticket lady seemed displeased that she had to deal with money and not just punch my ticket. I can't imagine what she would have said if I hadn't had any cash. Probably would have been kicked off the train.
