I was just curious what happens when you wear the Apple Watch with another tracker that also logs activity into the Apple Health app?
Do they double record?

Apple Watch does the Apple fitness app. If you wear another tracker like the Fitbit, it uses a Fitbit app. What you will find out is that the devices do not agree with each other.

I don't look like a dork! but that's cuz I still have my original fitbit ONE that no one sees cuz I wear it clipped to my bra. but ya.... wearing another wrist fitness tracker = D-O-R-K!

And the steps on my ONE never matches the steps on my apple watch.....

How close are they? Is one always larger?

Everyone who has the Apple Watch has this dilemma. That's because the phone is also seen as another fitness tracker if it has the motion co-processor. The key is to place the tracker you want to be the primary device at the top of the list in the Health app. The app will display the information from the top and supplement the data from the other devices if it doesn't match or is missing items.

It's not the best system but will allow you to wear the device you want.

Yes and no.

I do not have an apple watch, but instead use a fitbit flex (with the fitbit app linked to MyFitnessPal, which in turn links to the Health App) and when I go for a run using the Nike Running App (which also links to Healt App) they both record the activity (double record, as you put it), however, after they both synced, the next sync discounts one of the activities, normally in my case the fitbit, since for some reason the Nike app takes precedent over the fitbit.

I hope I made myself clear, I'm not quite sure I succeeded on explaining.

I got a second one mainly because I was interested in learning about my sleep patterns and optimizing them.
I guess I will just turn off the activity recording from my secondary device and keep it for swimming or something.

It seems that Misfit can double count on the apple health app, making the step count function rather useless.

Have an up2 that is about to go back. Step data on the up app vs the health app was way different by 6k steps or so. Going to be looking for another tracker that won't look awful when paired with an Apple Watch since I can't wear the watch to work but can't give up the other features when out of work.

I don't know if this applies on this forum but over in another forum we have a saying.....

No pics, no fitness tracker.

I have a basic (no clock display) Fitbit and and Apple Watch and the steps are never the same : (
I guess it does look strange wearing both but oh well.
We have a workweek challenge going on every week at work , everyone has a Fitbit , I'm the only one with an Apple Watch. On the weekends, I just wear my Apple Watch . I like the work week challenges and goal days on the Fitbit . I love my Apple Watch fitness rings!!

Don't, you'll burn more calories with two fitness trackers versus just one.
