What happens to messages sent via iMessage or as text messages if the recipient's phone is off? Are they queued and resent when the phone is turned on? Or do they end up in the bit bucket?

Thanks!
Chris

I believe the messages will show up when you turn on the phone...at least this is the behavior I observed recently when traveling overseas, while on the plane my phone was off when I turned it on upon landing and connecting to wifi, iMessgaes came through... and they couldn't have been sent as text because I was in airplane mode

I guess what will happen is it will say delivered, but probably store in the server and once the other end phone is turned on, and is connected, they should receive it. If not then it will likely go as text.
