lets say i gave my iphone x back and i get the max on upgrade program

i have it for a week and return it back....what does apple do? give me iphone x back and i carry on the payments im confused?

Best answer that I have is that you will be done with both loans and no phone.

Once Apple receives your old phone, your loan is closed. You can't ever get that one back and reopen the loan. You'd be out two phones and have to figure out what to buy next.
