I have a 3GS I wanna upgrade to the iPhone 4 but what happens to pictures/contacts?

If you have pictures in the camera roll of the 3GS, you will need to download those to your computer, then you can sync them back to the new phone with iTunes.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Sync your old iPhone to iTunes and then back it up by right clicking the iPhone logo in iTunes and selecting backup iPhone. Then when you get your new iPhone right click the iPhone on left side of iTunes and restore as backup of old one. I literally just did this a few hours ago and only took about five minutes.

That will NOT get the pictures out of the camera roll.
