What happens when I get new Mac?

So my macbook died on me . I will be getting a new MacBook next month after saving up a few dollars.

I'd like to know what happens with my iPhone. Can I just connect and backup or will I lose all data? I had Time Machine backup everything right before it died so should that help?

If you have a Time Machine backup, then you can get all your music, photos, videos, contact and calendar info from it.

yep when you get ur new mac

plug in the Time Machine HDD and select Start from Backup when prompted

Or use Migration Assistant (what I did) - it works perfectly.
