CarPlay What happens when using navigation and receiving a call

Thinking about having a carplay unit installed in my Camry.

In the scenario where I'm using maps for navigation what happens to the screen when an incoming call comes in and I answer it? Will the navigation screen still be visible without having to do anything or will the call screen take over?

The call screen will take over. However you can manually switch back to Maps or, if you don’t, you’ll get notification banners with impending turns and directions.

Actually, it happens for my wife (I don’t have a CarPlay receiver), but online I found it to be a common complaint in trying to troubleshoot it for her...

Just FYI for the OP, those Turn banners appear when the CarPlay screen is set to anything other than navigation...

2017 Honda Civic OEM.

No problems here. 2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV OEM. Switches to the Phone screen as soon as the call is received, and can switch back to the Navigation manually.
