BackBlaze just posted this article to their blog:

What Hard Drive Should I Buy?

This topic came up in a recent thread about building a NAS from a Power Mac and I thought the article may help instigate a healthy conversation about hard drive brands.

I'm a Hitachi guy. What's your opinion?

Western Digital.

Hitachi, Fujitsu and Toshiba have all died premature deaths on me.

+1 to WD drives, I've had many over the years and they've all been excellent.

Actually come to think of it I've never had a drive die on me, even the 40mb Conner Peripherals SCSI drive made in 1990 that I have in my Mac Classic still works great.

I run Western Digital about as much as I'm able to, I have a Seagate on the way so we'll see how she treats me.
