I recently bought an iMac BTO System via the Apple Store in the UK. Using the System Information utility, I get the following info regarding the internal HDD as installed by Apple for the custom build:
ST32000541AS:
Capacity: 2 TB (2,000,398,934,016 bytes)
Model: ST32000541AS
Revision: AL33
Serial Number: 9WM557KK
Native Command Queuing: Yes
Queue Depth: 32
Removable Media: No
Detachable Drive: No
BSD Name: disk0
Rotational Rate: 7200
Medium Type: Rotational
Partition Map Type: GPT (GUID Partition Table)
S.M.A.R.T. status: Verified
If I Google the model, the I am told that this is a Seagate Barracuda LP 2 TB.
This drive only has a speed of 5900rpm, not the 7200rpm that Apple state in all their Net based spec on their Apple Store Web site. I am trying to get clarification of this issue from Apple........ Anyone also noticed this "Discrepancy"??
