so you make a thread title implying something has happened that isn't possible to have happened, using the past tense. then your question is about a hypothetical situation?......wow

ok so what will happen if your iphone is stolen? anyone had this happen to? What did you do?
yes i know i use different tenses...
my main point of the question was if theft of iphones have been on the increase.....because you are essentially carrying a computer around with you
and that whole find my iphone thing.....so what if it shows it is at an apartment building with 200 apartments...what then would i do?

if you have mobile me, then you could send a reminder to the phone asking the person to return it, and even possibly say you know it i within an appartment buildingyes i know i use different tenses...

DON'T call 911 (or another ermergency number), this is not an emergencycan you file a police report for a stolen cell phone? Never did that before. Like call 911?
I would go to the address.. Call the cops and see if they come.. If they don't, I knock on the door and get my phone back..

then contact the police, showing them the map of where it is
Yeah because knocking on a thief's door sounds like such a good idea. Let the cops deal with it.
Instead of spending hours contemplating what you will do if it gets stolen (which is sounding a bit suspicious if you ask me), you can just, you know, not be dumb? Keep it on you at all times, or lock it in a desk/locker when you leave it somewhere. I can't comprehend how people get their phone stolen, what are they doing? Leaving it on public tables and walking away? It makes no sense to me.
What if 3GS model got stolen?
well specifically....
when i am at the clubs or bars...i tend not to leave stuff in my butt pockets due to vengabonds stealing from you or gypises...or i guess you call them pick pockets.
so i leave it in the front pocket..and i have fitted jeans and pants..so that leaves no room..and it could be easy for someone to grab and steal.
Maybe you should stop buying jeans that are two sizes too small! My phone is in my front pocket all the time and I've never had a problem with it falling out.
