What if i go to apple with reservation but preordeted ATT?

I preordered from att but its all messed ip and prob will come late. I also have an apple reservation. Im leaving for vacation on the 24th so need it that day.

If i dont get my preorder by the 24th, can i still go to apple and buy it? Will it be full or upgrade price? Will they even let me either way?

I too have the same question...I would like to go to the Apple store at 5am and get in line to get my reserved iPhone, because Fedex won't come till later in the day and I could be at work.
 
When you do your reservation, they have to re-authorize you at that time. If ATT says you can't get the phone, then you can't get the phone.

So by not canceling your ATT order, you risk ATT saying you are not eligible for an upgrade.

If you dial *NEW#, and it returns a date in 2012, then you will not be able to pick up a phone from apple.

Can I just then buy it at the full price?
 
OP , Did you order it from att.com and pay for it? Because if so i'm not sure as to why you can't wait for the iphone to come on the 24th. It would only be a few hours. If you already upgraded you won't be able to again at a discount and your only option would be a full retail price which for the 16 GB is 599 and the 32 GB is 699 + Tax

I will be leaving on vacation the night of the 24th..i ordered permier and it seems that a lot of people are getting the runaround where ATT people have said everyone will receive on the 25th instead.
 
Yep, if you upgraded via ATT and try to go to the APPLE Store, you will not have an upgrade available.:(
 
Did you get charged for the phone yet? I thought i read only once it's activated then it's officially upgraded. Call AT&T and ask them. Or try that code and see what the text comes back as.

EDIT: i think i'm wrong about once it's activated. if that were the case, people would be able to order more than one phone.

Not charged, but there's a hold I think (credit line went down). Still says i'm up upgradeable via the code...hmmm...

Yes you can. I paid full retail for mine, to avoid signing a contract.
 
You could also use another line on your account if you have one upgrade eligible. Thats what I think Im going to do.
 
I preordered my phone on Apple's site, but it says it won't be shipped until July 14. Would it be possible for me to pick it up at the ATT store before the 14? (Assuming there are some units available.)

Also, what are the chances that my phone ships earlier than the date, July 14, posted on the apple store?
 
What is this thread? It's like "What if I pre-order an Xbox 360 at Best Buy but then show up at Fry's?"

SO I think that's what I'm going to do..wait in line if it doesn't come on time and by the time i get the ATT, sell it.

Do you think Apple will charge me full price or will ATT charge me the full $699?
