Imagine this: the next iPod Touch becoming the world's first media player to become a Wifi Phone. You'd have the whole iOS ecosystem to install Skype, SIP, Tango, Fring, Line2, but most of all, the iPod Touch could finally be held up to your head and spoken into like a regular phone, except its entirely through Wifi.
No contracts, no carriers involved, and plenty of companies rushing to make apps that would turn your iPod Touch into your home phone line.
It would have a speaker so it would ring just fine, and seeing as how it's a Wifi phone, it wouldn't vibrate since it wouldn't be something you take on the go unless you have a Mifi.
Isn't this something that is pretty easy to implement? Don't we have a microphone already for facetime? All we'd need is an earpiece to listen from. It really wouldn't cost that much to build into the current iPod Touch, and it would sell even more than it already does because it can replace a phone entirely without the need for headphone/mic.
What do you think?
