The problem with multitasking is that most people don't understand it, launch a bunch of apps and then complain about the battery.

Apple has to compromise and the power users have to suffer for it.

So, what if they enabled full multitasking but made a switch in the "Settings" and left it disabled by default. An average user would not notice anything, but power users could enable it, maybe also have a list of installed apps that you can tick on/off to enable multitasking for them.

Wouldn't that be a better solution than the save state "multitasking" iOS has now?
 
A better solution is to not have the single home button do 5 freaking things depending on what voodoo you use to activate it.

I'm going to have to seriously consider jailbreaking.
