You arrive home. You haven't looked at the phone. Immediately you email Steve (I heard his email address is public)

I would have driven over to Apple Campus and asked for a personal audience with....Phil Schiller, then handed it over to him. I say Phil because he's more likely to give a crap about the effort I'd gone to in getting the phone back than Steve, and I might get a new MacBook out of it

More likely you will receive a visit from an attorney who will threaten you with all kinds of legal action if you don't hand it over right NOW! Asking for anything in return would be viewed as extortion - you're in a no-win situation.

I like Apple's products, but as a company, they are ruthless.
