What initial charges need to go through on Pre Order day?!?

im trying to prepare myself so I have all my i’s dotted and t’s crossed on midnight so I can get my phone.

What INITIAL credit card charge needs to go through before your pre Order is confirmed? Do u need to pay $1,000+ as a temporary hold, or do you need to just pay the first months payment if you’re going to upgrade via AT&T Next? (Which would be a lot less)

If paying outright then if I remember correctly they take the full payment as a hold which is released after a few days before taking again once shipped. With device payments like AT&T Next I would assume they take Month 1 and any upfront payment but I’m not sure how it works so can’t be certain

Well I kinda made this thread so those who’ve done it before can tell me exactly what charges need to clear.

The window of opportunity is small to get your phone on release date.

Also if I’m under somebody else’s AT&T family share plan, and my line is eligible for an upgrade, what INFORMATION do I need ready at midnight? Their passwords and stuff? Please help.
