Traditionally, with Verizons system, swapping ESNS and the getting the program over the air was relatively seamless.
With the iPhone on the VZW platform, even when doing a alternate upgrade, you MUST activate via iTunes on the phone you have, before swapping it out to a different # or account.
Just curious how *intergrated* iTunes is with the activation process at the end of the day...
The downside or issue I have is from a business/enduser standpoint (alternate upgrades are relatively common), is that doing alternate upgrades with the iPhone loses the enduser voicemail unless you do quasi options like saving it a SD card etc...as you effectively kill/delete the voicemailbox when you switch to the iPhone....
