Hello,

I'm going to be going to the Apple Store and getting my iPhone 5 looked at. The battery seems to be going bad and there are few other issues. If they replace my iPhone 5 what iOS version would it most likely come with? Is there any chance I could get 7.0.6 or below? Or maybe even iOS 6?

Thanks!

It's likely not a high chance of iOS 6, but there's a chance, while iOS 7.0.6 might be a bit more likely, but hard to say how much more.

That said, realistically, no one will really be able to say one way or another, and even if a bunch of people got this or that recently here and there that still doesn't really mean much as far as what you might end up getting in your situation.

You'd be surprised. Last month, well 6 weeks ago, i took my iphone 5 into londons apple store, with a massive battery issue dust inside the camera lens and the signal strength constantly dropping to "searching" on my top task bar.. Anyways to my surprise they brought back another iphone 5 with ios 6.1.3 on it. The guy turned it on was like "huh" and then he told me i had to update it to get my back-up back on it.. loooool. However my iphone is a 64gb black. in which case not many people own 64gb, and therefore was one of the few to get ios 6.1.3.. Still updated it to 7.1 as i like to new ios.. just not the icons..

I think there's almost zero chance any phones will have iOS 6 at this point. It's time to move on (unless you willingly didn't tap the "download and install" button, because you have a choice you know).

There is chance it'll come with 7.0.6 though.

Maybe if its a very unpopular store there is a chance.

I replaced mine just over a week ago at Apple Covent Garden and I got 7.0.4
I'm really please actually because I got the old design back so no longer have to endure tiny round contact pictures on an incoming call :)

You're okay with the random bugs and slow animation speeds?

Or even a rather big SSL security hole.

It's a phone. I'm really not fussed about security bugs on a phone.
I much prefer the interface and I haven't found random bugs to be honest.
Meaning what, you don't have any accounts or anything else setup in the phone, not even logged into the App Store, just phone calls and texts and nothing more?
