It's tough to make that make sense when you can get 4x storage for $100 more. I was planning to buy 64gb this year anyway, so this actually saves me $100 or pays for the Plus upgrade, depending on how you want to look at it.

you know you are right, they should have just killed 16gb ..
32 , 64 and 128 would have made more sense

Nah, this makes perfect Apple sense. Everyone will see the 4x storage for $100 more and everyone spends $100 more than they usually would have when it might cost apple like $2 more. $98 more profit on each purchase. Seems smart to me.
