For the photographers out there. I currently only have an iPhone 4S as a camera, and I'm interested in what kind of bump if any I'm looking at with the camera when my Air 2 arrives next week.

I'm not sure we will know until iFixit tears it down to revel the exact camera module it uses and for someone to give the camera a thorough review. Apple has been using 8MP modules with 5 element lenses since the 4s so it is hard to say exactly what iPhone it would be equal to yet. The iPad cameras have always been behind the iPhones so if I had to guess right now it would be similar in quality to the iPhone 5 or 5s maybe? Feature wise it has the burst mode and slo-mo that the iPhone 5s has.
