Hi everyone, i am a noob at all of these new gadgets and i was wondering what ipod touch should i get...:confused::confused:

I have about 800 songs in my itunes library, and thinking of expanding it to 1000. I will probably put 2-4 movies on, about 20 music videos/youtube videos and a ton of apps.

I was just wondering, should i get the 8, 16 or 32 gig model?:apple:

Thx for your advice!

BTW: that is 1000 songs, 2-4 movies, 20 or so music videos/youtube videos (that i downloaded) and a bunch of apps!:D

I have 769 songs, 4 movies, bunch of tv shows, and 1.33 GB's of apps. I have 15.02 GB's left on my 32GB iPod Touch.

32 will be the perfect size for you.

Hello,

I am wanting to buy a new Touch soon, and was wondering if the 8 gig or 16 gig would be good for me. I have about 500 songs with no plans to add any more, about 6 music videos, no movies, and I do plan to buy lots of apps. Could I get away with just an 8 gig, or would I need the 16? Thanks.

Wow.. i think your usage is similar to mine.. I haven't bought an ipod touch yet, but I am looking to buy an 8 gig.. but I am afraid that I might regret... so might have to fork out another 100 for a 16 gig =X Anyway, I have looked at the applications and found that each application ~30 mb (or less? not sure) so I guess we can still put quite alot of applications on it..

Would like some advice too..

32GB, hell, 16GB may even work.
Well how big are you movies?
I have mine converted to where they aren't really big.
My 16GB iPod touch has about 500MB of apps, 2049 songs, 49 music videos, 294 Photos, and a movie that's 851MB.

Can never get enough storage space

First off, you should go with what you can afford.
I personally have a 2G 16 gb, and that barely does it for me. My personal view is that, to a large extent, you can never get enough storage space.

In the long run I think you would appreciate the 32 gb model.

8gb $239, 16gb $299, 32gb $399. Prices per gigabyte are $29.88, $18.69, and $12.47 respectively. 32gb is the best value so long as you don't have a better use for your money. The memory cost (an 8gb jump at 299-239=$60 or $7.50/gig, a 24gb jump at 399-239=$160 or $6.67/gig, or a 16gb jump at 399-299=$100 or $6.25/gig) suggests the 32gb model is a better value over either previous model assuming you'll actually use more memory than 16gb. I've got an 8gb Touch and always seem to have 2gb free so I'm content with it. I bought a netbook though and am constantly aggravated that it only has 4gb onboard memory with only a tiny bit remaining after XP is installed. Save yourself some aggravation. If you are pushing 16gb needs now then run and get a 32gb version.

The movies alone indicate a 32 gig version would be best for you. Don't forget now that iTunes plus will be selling 256 kbps songs so if you buy from them the file size will be a lot larger...

i would do 16 gig

8 is too small..you will run out of space after a few movies/free podcasts/videocasts

I agree. Buy the biggest one you can afford, and you'll regret it less in terms of storage then, and also in terms of resale value when you're ready to upgrade.

Whats that supposed to mean?:confused::eek::eek::confused:

ROFL. Not even on the thread... but anyways...
I'm assuming you're talking about the sentence I have in my signature.
Let's continue this in a PM since iTouch VS. iPod touch arguements are frowned upon in the forums.
